The challenges of developing a multistory building structure on a narrow 24-ft (7.3m) wide site were amplified when the building width doubles above the 8th floor. The top three floors and the roof terrace overhangs above the neighboring property. An in-depth collaboration between ODA Architecture and ADG resulted in combination of reinforced concrete and steel-framed structural system. the lower eight floors are composed of reinforced concrete slab construction while at the upper levels steel trusses are employed to support the cantilevered floors. The diagonal bracings are exposed (with intumescent paint as fireproofing) within the occupied spaces. The concrete slab extends out to the facade and is thickened to form a continuous exposed concrete ribbon that winds up the facade as a continuous strip.
