ADG is a structural design and engineering firm committed to providing the highest quality consultancy services. We have a broad spectrum of structural engineering experience that enables us to efficiently meet the needs of our Clients. We redefine the role of the ‘Consulting Engineer’ in design and construction. From new high-rise buildings to delicate restoration of historic landmarks, from value engineering mega-building complexes to the stability of the tiniest sculptures, we do them all. We relish on developing innovative but feasible solutions for the trending complex geometries of contemporary architecture. Alterations and additions to fully occupied and in active use corporate buildings are our forte.

Based in the New York City metropolitan area, ADG has been serving local and international clients since 2003. It is led by a group of principals, each of whom has over 30 years of experience in the field of structural engineering and are well respected in their community.

Joseph Lieber

Mr. Lieber is a founding member of ADG and brings 36 years of experience in structural design in New York City area. With his vast experience and a deep knowledge of New York City’s historical construction practices, he is able to diagnose problems associated with old structures. His ability to provide unique and economically feasible engineering solutions for complicated design issues is well respected in the industry. He provides structural design support to multiple high profile corporate clients, real estate management companies and major broadcast networks. Mr. Lieber is known to provide diagnostic and forensic engineering for stability of landmark prominent buildings, large scale art structures, temporary displays, façade inspections, vibration and movement issues in buildings etc. He received a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York and a completed graduate courses from City College of New York. He has been awarded James F. Lincoln Arc Welding Merit Award for innovative repair design for severely corroded columns at Herald Square Subway Complex in New York City.

Mr. Islam is a founding member of ADG who has been working in the structural design field for 29 years. His involvement in the design of prestigious large scale development projects around the world has enabled him to work with world renowned architectural firms. Although spending a majority of his working life in New York City area, he has had the opportunity to spend some years in London, UK for the massive Canary Wharf Redevelopment project and in Malaysia during the design and construction of Petronas Twin Towers and its adjoining buildings and ancillary structures. His domestic works vary from 60-story Morgan Guaranty Trust Building at 60 Wall Street to award winning HHMI Janelia Medical Research Campus in the suburbs of Washington D.C. At ADG, he has managed multiple high-rise building projects as well as large alteration/retrofit works. He is known for “thinking out-of-the-box” ideas and developing innovative solutions. He has been involved in providing emergency engineering support services during disaster recovery efforts at 9/11 World Trade Center in New York City and the devastating January 2010 earthquake in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He led the effort to reconstruct the Haitian national historic landmark Marche de Fer building structure destroyed by the earthquake. Mr. Islam holds a Civil Engineering degree (B.S.) from NED University, Pakistan and Master’s degree from Cornell University, NY. He has been a keynote speaker at various international engineering conferences and holds professional engineering license in several states.

Mr. Shah is a founding member of ADG and holds over 30 years of consulting experience in the design of high-rise buildings, healthcare facilities, hotels, airport terminals, and long-span structures. He has managed all phases of structural design for numerous projects. In addition, he excels at contract negotiation, project management and solving complex construction problems. He has worked on many prestigious projects like Petronas Towers in Malaysia, Bronx Terminal Market and New York Hospital in New York, NJ Public Health Environmental and Agricultural Laboratories, Trenton, NJ, proposed one-kilometer tall Al Burj Tower in Dubai, Terminal One at JFK Airport and numerous high-rise hotel and residential buildings. He holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from India and Master’s degree from Manhattan College, NY. He has previously worked at DeSimone & Chaplin Engineering and Thornton Tomasetti Engineers in New York City. He is a professionally licensed engineer in many eastern states.

Mr. Ahmad brings with him over 22 years of design experience in a broad range of structural engineering. His key expertise lies in seismic design standards and specialized computer modeling of complex structures. He is an innovative practitioner who emphasizes optimization and efficiency. Mr. Ahmad received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from AMU University in India, Masters in Earthquake Engineering from IIT Roorkee, India, and a Doctorate from Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey. He joined ADG in 2007 and continues to manage multiple new hotel and residential multi-story buildings and renovation projects. His past experience includes value engineering of large international and domestic structures like Echelon Casino and Hotel complex in Las Vegas, Mubarak Center in Lahore, Pakistan and Stapleton residential development here in Staten Island, NY.

Mr. Hossain has been working as a Structural Engineer for over eighteen years in the U.S. He holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology and a Master’s degree from Texas Tech University. He joined ADG in 2003 with previous experience at the New York offices of WSP (Cantor Seinuk), Thornton Tomasetti and AECOM. Among his many projects, he was instrumental in the design of a 39-story and a 36-story triplex hotel on West 39th Street, Random House in New York City and Lucent Technologies Corporate Center in Pennsylvannia stand out. His varied experience has developed his skills in complete management of design for residential, commercial and educational buildings. Besides concrete and steel, he specializes in the design of prefabricated cold formed load bearing buildings.

Ms. Mayangarum has over 20 years of experience in the design of large scale sophisticated multi-story building projects. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Bandung Institute of Technology and then pursued to complete her Master’s degree in the same field from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA in 1997. She received Merit Award from Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation in 1997.She was the principal design engineer for the 60-story Petronas Tower 3 and the similar-sized uncompleted Four Seasons Hotel and Apartment Towers located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She worked on the 55-story Bloomberg Tower and 56-story Random House/Park Imperial Apartment Tower in New York City. Presently, she is responsible for many multistory residential buildings in New York and Brooklyn.

He holds an Electrical Engineering degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He has previously worked as Systems Administrator at Thornton Tomasetti Engineers and has been working for ADG since 2003.

Mr. Abbas is a graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology in Civil Engineering. He is working on the design and construction administration phases for many concrete multi-story buildings being developed at ADG. Currently, he is also pursuing his Master’s degree in Structural Engineering at NJIT.

After graduating with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering in 1971 from Mapua Institute of Technology in Phillipines, Mr. Butiu has worked in the field of Structural Design locally and in Saudi Arabia before joining ADG in 2007. His previous experience has led him to work on high-rise commercial and residential, industrial, hospital, public, government, and military projects. At ADG, initially he was involved in quality control and field inspection for multi-story concrete buildings. Presently, he has been working on all types of alteration and retrofit projects.

Mr. Hammoudeh brings over 18 years of civil and structural engineering experience to ADG. He specializes in the design of high-rise buildings, civil infrastructure and military installations with a special emphasis in investigation and renovation/alteration of existing structures. He worked at ADG from 2004 to 2007 when he moved to Jordan working for US based firm United Infrastructure Projects before returning to ADG in 2014. He has also taught college level courses at Passaic Community College, NJ. He received both B.S. and M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Kharkov Civil Engineering Institute, Ukraine and another Master’s degree from New Jersey Institute of technology.

Mr. Pamadessa is a Professional Engineer licensed in the States of New York and New Jersey. He has been working in the New York City area since graduating from Polytechnic Institute of NYU in 1997. While working for various design firms, he completed his Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2005. He has worked on multiple new building and renovation projects including the massive East Side Access Project and for Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.

Ms. Riviere received her Bachelors of Arts in English from Drew University in 2006. Since then, she has worked as an early childhood educator receiving certifications for Pediatric First Aid and CPR. She has volunteered with The Empower Foundation as their Director of Communications to promote their charitable efforts. She can also be seen performing in community theater productions. Ms. Riviere has been the Executive Assistant at ADG for 6 years.

Ms. Yin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiatong University. She joined ADG in 2003 and has been a key person in developing the CAD standards. She has worked on all types of steel, concrete and timber building projects. Her experience includes the preparation materials and construction documents for all phases of a design project.

Mr. Lee attended Bergen County Technical High School in Teterboro, NJ, and he graduated as the Salutatorian for the class of 2008. Mr. Lee graduated with honors from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2013, with a concentration in Structural Engineering and a double major in Psychology. Currently, he is attending Columbia University part-time to pursue a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Forensic Structural Engineering. Mr. Lee began his career in structural engineering shortly after obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree, and he has experience in structural design and construction administration for various residential, commercial, and municipal buildings, along with other types of structures; performing site investigations, condition surveys, and subsequent analysis and reporting of findings; and utilizing various structural analysis and design software. Mr. Lee received his E.I.T. certification in 2012 and is working towards P.E. licensure.
